    Bold BI v7.7 Release Highlights for Embedded Analytics

    We are excited to share that Bold BI version 7.7 is now available! Our most recent update brings many eagerly awaited feature upgrades. This release boosts performance and resolves bugs for the Windows, Docker, Linux, Kubernetes, and Azure platforms. Dive deeper into dashboard creation with an improved user experience in Bold BI.

    New Features

    Embedding

    • In JavaScript-based embedding, we have added a nonce API to bypass content security policy restrictions only for fetching Bold BI dependencies.

    • In JavaScript-based embedding, we have added loadView() to render dashboards with filters by view ID or name.

    Improvements

    Data sources

    • We have provided support to the TIDB connector.

    • We have provided support to include scheduled dashboard image export as inline content in the email body.

    • We have improved existing group import functionality to import groups with a larger number of users and track the import status.

    • We have provided support to hide the tab header of multitab dashboards using a URL query string.

    ETL

    • We have provided support to auto-refresh logs and download logs in ETL.
    • We have added an Elasticsearch connector in Bold ETL.

    AI

    • We have enhanced the Q&A widget’s responses to queries pertaining to date fields.

    Bug fixes

    Data sources

    • We fixed the issue where the bar chart was not displaying the sum value correctly.
    • We resolved the problem where the custom connector section was not loaded after deleting the custom connector JSON.
    • We fixed the issue of duplicate fields appearing in collections in the Rockset connector.
    • We fixed the problem where parameters were not functioning properly in the expression dialog.
    • We resolved the error that occurred during the update of query metrics.
    • We fixed the issue of mismatched column mapping when combining data sources.
    • We fixed the problem where the data source was slow to load when using SQL-stored procedures.
    • We resolved the data retrieval error that occurred while using the TOTAL expression.
    • We fixed the problem where creating an expression column with the Total function for MySQL data sources was impossible.
    • We resolved the issue where fields were not properly listed in the Rockset connector.
    • We resolved the problem where the dashboard took a long time to open the underlying data view.
    • We fixed the data retrieval error that occurred in the 100% stacked column chart.
    • We restricted the use of the RUNNING expression with another expression.
    • We resolved the issue where users were unable to find tables in the latest ClickHouse version (v24) in Bold BI.
    • We resolved the error in the grid widget after removing null values from a column.
    • We restricted using count (distinct [column]) in expressions.
    • We added logs with query execution times to troubleshoot this issue in the public/custom build for SQL.
    • We resolved the issue where the page loaded endlessly when ensuring the edit connection for Excel and CSV data sources in code view mode.
    • We resolved the issue where the dashboard parameter could not be used in expressions.
    • We fixed the object reference issue when extracting stored procedures.
    • We fixed the issue where the refresh status loaded an error for the BoldDesk data source.

    Server

    • We fixed the issue where accessing the public multitab dashboard with tab security enabled led to an internal server error.
    • We fixed the issue of providing both read and download access, showing only one permission.
    • We fixed the issue where copying dashboard functionality did not work sometimes when the complete application was embedded into another application.
    • We fixed the issue where the inserted sample dashboard did not show when inserting samples from the draft listing page.
    • We fixed the issue where the on-demand run option did not function properly on mobile browsers.
    • We fixed the issue where scheduled data refreshes ran more than the total number of occurrences configured.
    • We fixed the issue where error messages were not displaying correctly when a user without access tried to publish a dashboard to a different site.

    Designer

    • We resolved the issue of incorrectly maintaining the applied date format in exported Excel files.
    • We resolved the formatting issue observed in exported Excel files that occurred when exporting from the underlying data view.
    • We resolved the issue where the Designer was throwing an error for imported dashboards.
    • We fixed the issue where expression column renaming is not working while editing or viewing the dashboard.

    Widgets

    • We fixed the improper tooltip visibility issue in the heatmap widget.
    • We fixed the issue where the applied widget background was not retained when the widget displayed a loading indicator.
    • We resolved the scatter chart widget’s improper rendering issue when configuring dimension fields to the label section.
    • We fixed the issue where the modified opacity in the color palette was not reflected in the widgets.
